Hydrotherapy

From the fountain of youth to the mineral baths that cure all afflictions, everyone loves the feel of a warm pool. Hydrotherapy is conducted in small groups under the supervision of a physiotherapist from Mill Park Physiotherapy Centre.

The advantages of hydrotherapy include: support, buoyancy, warmth, resistance to movement and compression. Many conditions can be helped by hydrotherapy including back and neck problems, sports injury, arthritic problems, work-related injuries, antenatal and
postnatal exercise, recovery from orthopaedic
surgery.

Hydrotherapy can:
  • Strengthen muscles
  • Mobilise joints
  • Relieve pain
  • Promote relaxation
  • Improve general fitness
  • Improve balance and coordination

The physiotherapist is experienced in conducting hydrotherapy classes for a wide range of people with different problems. From sports injuries to back injuries to regaining the ability to walk, the physiotherapist will devise a suitable program to help get you back on track.

How to get started: It is ideal to have an assessment for your suitability to undertake hydrotherapy prior to participation. If you are not currently seeing a physiotherapist an assessment can be arranged at Mill Park Physiotherapy Centre.

Hydrotherapy is conducted in small groups at the Mill Park YMCA (Morang Drive Mill Park). Tuesday 12pm - 1pm. Cost = $15.
